Wellpoints are perforated or slotted pipes, typically 2-inch in diameter, designed for use in wellpoint dewatering systems. Fitted with an integrated filter screen, these wellpoints allow water to enter while blocking sand and fine particles. They are installed around an excavation site or foundation pit and connected by a header pipe to a wellpoint vacuum pump. By creating negative pressure (vacuum) in the header, the system draws water from the surrounding soil, effectively lowering the water table to ensure stable working conditions.
Available Lengths
With a typical maximum effective suction lift of around 6 meters (due to atmospheric pressure constraints), wellpoint systems remain the go-to method for shallow dewatering applications.
